Throw a House
party when your parents are out.
Date: 5th
November 2000.
Location:
Guldeford Cottage, East Sussex, UK.
Attendees: I’m not
going to name names here, as I know my parents will read this, but those who
were there know who they are & I’m sure will remember this fondly!
I’d love to say that this was a rock & roll ad-hoc party
that just happened or a meticulously planned event that was the talk of the
town for weeks before & after, but the reality of it was that it was really
neither. In fact my parents had actually said that it was o.k. to have a “bit
of a gathering”!
My parents were going away to Cyprus, with my sister for a
week & asked if I would house sit while they were away. I was at university
at the time, but it was only an hour’s drive away from my parents & I duly
said yes.
As house parties go, this was pretty calm, but calm was the
operative word (if you know what I mean).
Copious amounts of alcohol & lots of smoking was done, which resulted
in us all laughing our heads off in front of the TV at the end of the night,
being entertained by adverts?!
